LB Collective Wins Ourstage.com Accolades!

In November, our song "Oblivion" won the RedGorilla Music Fest competition on Ourstage.com. Thanks to your support, we performed at the RedGorilla Music Fest in Austin, TX on March 20th, 2009. Thanks to all those who listened and voted for us!

Who/What Is LB Collective?

 

The LB Collective is an original pop-rock duo based in the Atlanta area featuring memorable songs with lush and soulful vocals, innovative lyrics, compelling melodies and dynamic musicality.

The LB Collective began as the songwriting project of singer/performer Laura Benjamin, whose songwriting is known for "…the nerve to be unique …with content and melody that's memorable….lyrically sound … above the cut of mainstream nonsense." (Jan Smith, vocal producer). It has since morphed into a joint venture with guitarist/bassist A.J. Holz, who brings with him a rhythm section player's sensibility; Holz's influence is especially notable in this latest album release, Waiting For Enchantment, with tight grooves and funky bass licks complementing thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodic hooks.

The band released their debut CD, let it go, in the fall of 2007. Produced by Grammy® award-winner Don McCollister of Nickel and Dime Studios, the album showcased "finely crafted songs ...lightly tinged with likable, streamlined pop, soul and Americana influences."(Creative Loafing, November 2007). Songs from that album went on to receive top honors from fans at OurStage.com four times between 2008 and 2009. In November 2008, the song "Oblivion" was given the top prize in the "RedGorilla" category, earning the band a spot in the 2009 RedGorilla Music Fest in Austin, Texas. Several other songs have also earned top awards from the Ourstage fan community in categories as diverse as Alternative Country and Soft Rock.

The duo can be seen regularly performing at D'Vine Wine Bar in Dunwoody, GA , as well as other Atlanta hotspots and regional venues.
